"God of Indian Modern Hockey" Calls Time on Illustrious Career

Legendary goalkeeper to step down after fourth Olympic Games

WEB Indian hockey legend PR Sreejesh has announced that he will retire from international hockey after the upcoming Paris Olympics. The 36-year-old goalkeeper, known as the "God of Indian Modern Hockey," has been a cornerstone of the Indian national team for over a decade.

Sreejesh, who will become a four-time Olympian in Paris, was instrumental in India's bronze medal win at the Tokyo Olympics. His instinctive shot-stopping abilities and leadership skills have made him one of the most respected goalkeepers in the world, particularly in penalty shoot-out situations.

In a statement released hours before his final international match, Sreejesh said, "My international career has been nothing short of a dream. I have been fortunate enough to represent my country at the highest level and have experienced some incredible moments along the way."
